 Thanks, I have read all of that many times and set up another design by copying and renaming the existing design and site_access and editing the ini files. While I can log into the new "site_admin" I cant access the new "user_site", I have to log into it. Regardless of which login I use, the changes I make happen to all data.  Also, editing the NEW design's css changes the look of the OLD design. 
I guess I need to find out how to use mutliple databases.Can you point me in the direction for documentation on that?
 I suspect I am not the first person wanting to host more than one site on an installation.
